Shari Snow, MD, Chief of Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Chicago, is an expert in the management of women's health. Dr. Snow has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, and is the University of Chicago director for fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery. As a master robotic surgeon, Dr. Snow employs advanced and innovative surgical devices and techniques. She is often called upon to evaluate and advise on new medical devices. As well, Dr. Snow is a patent holder in the medical device arena.
Dr. Snow has a strong clinical interest in Hereditary Cancer Syndromes, such as Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome caused by the BRCA genes, and other genetic and familial risks for cancer. She is an expert in screening technologies, medications and surgical procedures to decrease the risk of cancer in patients with a strong family history of cancer. She has served as a consultant and on the advisory board of a world-leading cancer genetics laboratory.
Dr. Snow is Executive Medical Director of UChicago River East, an ambulatory medical facility providing care in 27 medical specialties, as well as outpatient surgical procedures, medical imaging and infusion services. Dr. Snow was instrumental in aspects of site determination, market assessment, architectural and aesthetic design of service lines provided, HR and operations .
